Chip (Decoder) Fitting

This involves the conversion of an analogue (non-digital) loco to full digital operation.

Prices

DCC ready locos - Cost of decoder plus £3.00, plus £5.00 for return postage for any standard loco (please contact us first if the loco has any additional 'special' value).

NB/ If you are buying both the loco and chip from us, the chip may be fitted free of charge - upon request prior to dispatch - including free P&P.

Non-DCC ready locos - Cost of decoder plus £10.00 (£15.00 for split chasis locos), plus £5.00 for return postage for any standard loco (please contact us first if the loco has any additional 'special' value).

NB/ If you are buying the loco and chip from us at the same time, there will be no P&P charge.

Sound Fitting (OO gauge only)

Provides authentic sounds for your chosen loco.

Prices

Cost of loco plus £125 (includes sound chip, speaker, your chosen sound and fitting) plus £5.00 for return postage for any standard loco (please contact us first if the loco has any additional 'special' value).

NB/ 1) This service cannot be offered for all types of loco - please contact us before sending your loco to us; 2) If you are buying both the loco and sound chip from us, there will be no P&P charge.

Lamp Fitting (OO gauge only)

While most diesel and electric locos are now offered with working lights, most steam locos are not. We are able to supply and fit authentic working lamps to your chosen steam loco.

Weathering (currently available via the shop only)

We are able to offer a weathering service, which adds that extra level of authenticity to your locos and rolling stock (currently available via the shop, only).

Layout Advice, Support & Construction

We are happy to provide informal 'layout' advice and guidance via the shop, including DCC.
 
Our aim is to support you in developing a layout that you'll be thrilled with, with minimal financial outlay.
 
For this reason, we have a working layout in our shop where we can showcase and discuss all commonly encountered aspects of model railway construction, such as base-board contruction, track-laying, electrics and scenics.
 
This should allow you to complete your own layout, with confidence.
